Bulgaria's first Clarins boutique, 2001

Cosmetic Plus was founded in Sofia in 1993, at a time when Bulgaria's prestige beauty market was yet to take shape. There were no established selective retail chains, no international distribution networks, and luxury fragrances remained largely confined behind the glass counters of duty-free stores.

Our first boutique on Vitosha Boulevard was 60 sq m, yet it was driven by an ambitious vision: to build a culture of beauty, care and appreciation among Bulgarian consumers. Through professional training, product demonstrations and participation in landmark industry events, Cosmetic Plus began setting professional standards in a market where such standards were still to be established.

In 1999, the company took an important step forward by becoming the distributor of its first selective beauty brands, Payot and Aigner perfumes, marking its entry into the prestige segment.

This pioneering journey reached a defining milestone in 2001 with the opening of Bulgaria's first Clarins boutique. The occasion was honored by the personal presence of Christian Courtin-Clarins, a powerful early expression of trust from one of France's distinguished beauty houses and a recognition of the partnership Cosmetic Plus had set out to build.

Between 2001 and 2008, Cosmetic Plus rapidly expanded its selective portfolio, welcoming renowned names such as Azzaro, Mugler, Guerlain, Sisley, Kenzo and Lanvin, and establishing itself as a trusted partner to prestigious fragrance and beauty houses entering the Bulgarian market.
